Chris
Triola is a self described visionary who thrives on wishes and dreams
and likes to believe that anything is possible. She brings an artist’s
approach to every aspect of design, with great attention paid to
composition and detail.
“ I like to play with clothes, strip them to
the basics then build,” she said. “Creating the fabric addresses the
painter in me. When the fabric is done, that creates the flow of
design.”
“The clothes I design are clothes for creative
women. They’re ‘doing’ clothes… things to wear when you’re writing,
buying, selling, making, driving, thinking… and they don't impose. You
shouldn't even know they’re there.”
“My dream is to combat ugliness and destruction
in the world - the environment, the lack of opportunity. If I can come
back to them with some beauty, that’s my contribution to the world…
That’s the dream - to bring beauty and goodness. Living a creative life
is a good life. In a creative world it’s always possible. There’s no
such thing as can’t.”
“Designing is a lifestyle for me. I intuitively
gather visual information all the time. Whether I am sitting at a
meeting, taking the dogs for a walk, riding in the car, or looking
through books, I am selecting interesting visual elements that may
become part of a finished project. The most exciting times are when
something I see triggers an effect and opens a whole new direction of
thought. Some ideas are used right away; others are stored for future
use. Some become themes whose very essence make up and ongoing part of
my visual expression."
“There was no one I wanted to imitate. I chose
to be myself. I am stimulated by working with people who give it
everything they’ve got - who rise to the challenge of new ideas.”
